Parish Life during January

With many people on holidays during January our parishes will be a little quieter and the following arrangements have been put in place:

• There will be no Tuesday morning Mass at All Hallows Church from Tuesday, 27 December to Tuesday, 24 January (inclusive).
• There will be a holiday roster for Leaders, Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers to ensure that we are covered for these essential roles in our celebration of the Eucharist.  If you have volunteered for any of these ministries, please present yourself to the Sacristy prior to Mass.
• Altar Servers are asked to check in at the Sacristy before Mass if they are able to assist.
• There will be no weekend newsletter until the end of January.  If you would like something brought to the attention of the parish community, please email or leave a note at the Parish Office.
• The Parish Office will close at 2.30 pm on Friday, 23 December and reopen on Tuesday, 3 January 2023.  If you need a priest during that time, please leave a message on the answer phone, it is checked on a regular basis.
• The Parish Office hours during January may vary, please ring ahead before visiting the Parish Office.

The Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph

The Feast of the Holy Family will take place on Friday, 30 December.  Mass will be celebrated at 9.15 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Deepdene.

New Year’s Day Mass

The solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God will take place during Sunday Mass across our parishes on Sunday, 1 January 2023.

The Epiphany of the Lord

The solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord will take place during Sunday Mass across our parishes on Sunday, 8 January 2023.

Level Crossing Removal Project

Mont Albert Road will be closed at the level crossing from 7.00 pm on Friday, 13 January 2023 to 6.00 am on Monday, 23 January 2023.  Please allow extra time when travelling in the area.

Save the Date

The Opening of the Parish Year will be celebrated at a single Vigil Mass on Saturday, 18 February 2023 at Our Holy Redeemer Church, Surrey Hills. Parish Groups and members will be commissioned for ministry at this time.  All parishioners are welcome to attend; hospitality will follow the Mass.  Please note there will be no 5.30 pm or 6.00 pm Vigil Masses at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church or Our Lady of Victories Basilica on that day.  Further details will be available towards the end of January 2023.
