Knit One Give One – Knitting for Charity (KOGO) is a project to provide hand knitted or crocheted items to those in need.
During our period of lockdown many of our parishioners were busily knitting and crocheting squares, rugs, beanies, scarves, gloves and baby goods for the Knit One Give One project. When we finally emerged from lockdown we were able to deliver half a dozen large boxes and some bags of the lovingly created goods.
KOGO extend their sincere thanks to all our parish crafters for the lovely items and assure you that the people who receive the goods will be thrilled as it gives them all such an emotional boost to know that others in the community take time and trouble to create these wonderful items.
All finished items – the squares are made into dazzling rugs – and other completed items are distributed through KOGO’s Community Partner Organisations such as public benevolent institutions, charities and government agencies providing for those in crisis accommodation, emergency relief, homelessness, hospital social work and mental health services, refuges, remote indigenous communities and many, many more.
Parishioners are invited to support this wonderful project by donating their time and wool to knit or crochet warm winter items. To find out more about the KOGO project or for suggested patterns click here visit or contact Kate Baines at the Parish Office.
