Season of Creation – Our Lady of Pentecost Catholic Parish

Season of Creation

Welcome to the Season of Creation 2025

The Season of Creation runs from World Day of Prayer for Care of Creation on 1 September to the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on 4 October.  It is a time dedicated each year to reflect on God’s gift of creation and our shared responsibility to care for our common home.

Peace with Creation

This year’s theme, Peace with Creation, is inspired by Isaiah 32:14–18.

It highlights the connection between peace, justice and our relationship with the natural world.  The theme calls us to pray, undergo personal transformation and take meaningful steps to heal the earth and confront the envrionmental degradation, conflict and injustice it endures.  This is a timely and meaningful theme in this Julilee Year of Hope.

Taking action

Create a Laudato Si’ Action Plan – the Australian Catholic Bishops encourage all Catholics to participate in the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, a shared space where the Church develops a proactive response to address the ecological crisis. They also call on individuals and communities to create and carry out their own Laudato Si’ Action Plans.
