Our Lady of Victories Basilica
Wedding availability
Weddings can be celebrated at Our Lady of Victories Basilica on most Saturdays during the year, with a start time between 12 noon and 4.00 pm. The Basilica is also available on some Sundays at 2.30 pm or during the week at various times, subject to the availability of the Basilica and celebrant.
Wedding Decorations in the Basilica
The flowers and pew bows are included in the booking fee. White and green flower arrangements will be placed on either side of the altar. White pew bows will be placed on the end of each pew down the main aisle.
Any special decorations on the pews will be at your own expense. Please contact the Parish Office for approval.
The use of confetti, rose petals, bubbles, or rice is strictly prohibited within the Basilica, the Basilica steps, or any other part of the Basilica grounds.
Music for your Ceremony
Music is an important part of your wedding, it is a very personal choice and will enhance the joy of the occasion. Couples are asked to select sacred music that reflects and enhances the Sacrament of Marriage and the sanctity of the church. Sacred music takes its words from the Bible, religious poems or a hymn.
The Basilica has a beautiful pipe organ, and the use of the Basilica organist is included in your booking fee.
Portable keyboards, and recorded music (CD or iPod) are not permitted in the Basilica.
Wedding Music Days are conducted at various times during the year. The Director of Music at the Basilica will be available to play pieces suitable for weddings and to assist you with selecting the music for your wedding ceremony.
Parking Facilities
There is no parking on the Basilica grounds. The Basilica forecourt is to be used by the bridal party vehicles only. Limited parking is available in the surrounding streets. There is also a Council owned car park at the bottom of Inglesby Road.
Reserve Road will be closed to through traffic from 24 January 2025 until further notice.
