Comings and goings

This week Our Lady’s Primary School has been super excited to have students back on site!  We began the staggered return with the beautiful Prep students and Years 1/2 and 5/6 students returned later in the week.

It has been such a wonderfully healing time, as the students have breathed a breath of fresh air back into the school.  The teachers have been so uplifted and refreshed by the presence of students.  The lockdown has certainly made us appreciate the community and relationships that everyone has been missing so much.  We cannot wait to have all students back on site very soon!

One of the wonderful prep students at OLPS, Annabelle, sums this all up as she ran all the way down the street to greet her teacher with great excitement at returning to school!

Principal at Our Lady’s Primary School steps down

Mrs Annie Engellenner has announced her resignation from Our Lady’s Primary School at the end of the 2021 school year to take up a position with Real Schools.  Annie has been Principal for the last four years and has been a dedicated and passionate educator.  We are saddened to hear that Annie will be leaving us but we are happy that she will continue to make an ongoing contribution to education.  Her role at Real Schools will involve working with many schools, assisting them to build a culture of committed teachers, caring students, and connected communities.  This will be a continuation of what Annie has done for us here at Our Lady’s and we wish her well in her new position.

We will do our utmost to ensure that Our Lady’s Primary School experiences a smooth transition to a new Principal and that the needs of students are paramount in the decision making along the way.  The Principal appointment process has now commenced and is being led by Regional Leadership Consultant, Mr John Corkill, from MACS and Fr Brendan Reed.

We plan to gather as a school community during the final school term for 2021 to thank Annie and to celebrate the great contribution she has made to our school, over the last four years, as Principal.
