Celebrating our Year and Looking Ahead Together

Dear Parishioners,

You are warmly invited to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Our Lady of Pentecost Parish – a special opportunity to reflect together on the past year and to share in the exciting developments ahead.

At this year’s 2024 AGM, Phil Mann, chair of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), will summarise key initiatives, decisions and developments undertaken by the PPC through 2024. He will provide a snapshot of the parish’s spiritual and social connections for the year. His presentation will include data on attendance, volunteer participation, sacramental celebrations and outreach efforts. By unpacking the Annual Impact Report for us, Phil will identify areas of growth in our parish; its challenges and testimonies from parishioners. It will open opportunities for each every of us to reflect on and be inspired to continue to live and serve as pilgrims of hope in a Kingdom of God through the visible instrument of our parish communities.

The AGM will also provide a valuable opportunity for Frank Peck – member of the Parish Pastoral Council and Chair of the Safeguarding Committee – to present the outcomes of the parish forums held during May of this year. These insights have been thoughtfully integrated into our 12-month Strategic Plan, shaping the direction of our parish community.

Frank will also offer an update on our Safeguarding efforts. As we all appreciate, this work goes beyond meeting the compliance requirements of the Archdiocese and State. At its heart, it is about fostering a culture of awareness and ensuring our parish remains a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all.

To conclude our gathering, Anton McKernan, Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee, will share a report on the parish’s financial position. This is a vital component of our community’s wellbeing, as sound financial stewardship enables our pastoral and spiritual initiatives to flourish.

We hope you will join us for this important gathering – to honour our past, celebrate our present, and look with hope to the future.
