This Sunday, Fr Frank O’Loughlin celebrates the fifty-seventh anniversary of his priestly ordination. On behalf of our parish community, we thank Fr Frank for nearly six decades of faithful and selfless devotion to God’s people. His gentle presence, enduring faith, wisdom and guidance have been a profound blessing to our community. May God continue to fill his heart with deep joy and peace as he celebrates this wonderful milestone in his priestly ministry.
With great joy, we welcome Maylynn Rozells as our new Administrative Assistant. She brings more than ten years of experience in Public Relations, and most recently served as Parish Administrator at Ponsonby Herne Bay Parish in Auckland. Maylynn brings a wonderful spirit of service to this important role and we are truly blessed to have her join our parish team. She will assist with parish communications across a range of platforms and help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the parish office. We sincerely thank her for accepting this role and warmly welcome her to our parish community. Maylynn will work three days a week, from Wednesday to Friday.
We are also pleased to announce that Sally McIntosh, who has faithfully served our parish for the past ten years, has accepted a new role as Office Manager and Finance Assistant. In this position, Sally will oversee the day-to-day administration of the parish office, maintain parish databases, registers, and electronic records, and support the parish’s financial administration. She will also manage Thanksgiving and the Parish Stewardship Program, and serve as secretary to the Finance and Investment Committee. We are deeply grateful to Sally for her continued generosity and commitment as she takes on these additional responsibilities. Sally will continue to work four days a week, from Tuesday to Friday.
We are also very blessed to have Tony McIlroy join the parish team as Property Coordinator. In this role, Tony will oversee the management of parish properties and facilities through the coordination of maintenance and development projects. He will also oversee leases, contractor relationships, and insurance matters while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. We are very grateful for Tony’s dedicated service and are pleased that he will be working with us each Wednesday.
Earlier this year, Fr Sam Kono, on behalf of the Council of the Redemptorist Province of Oceania, reached out to us to discuss the possibility of Brother Hans Raang exercising his diaconal ministry in our parish following his ordination to the diaconate. It is with great joy that we welcome Deacon Hans to our parish, where he will serve in the ministry of the diaconate from Wednesday, 5 August 2026, to Friday, 19 February 2027. During his time with us, Deacon Hans will reside with us in the parish house.
In addition to actively participating in and assisting with the liturgical celebrations of our parish, he will also be involved in our pastoral and charitable ministries, contributing to the various activities and initiatives of parish life. Please join me in welcoming Deacon Hans to our community and we pray that God will richly bless him in this new chapter of his life among us.
