Our Sacrament Program is up and running for 2021.
This will be a busy year across our parishes and schools as we will be completing preparation that was begun in 2020 and we will have many celebrations of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation to make up for those who could not celebrate them in 2020 and for those who will enrol in 2021.
We have had many requests for information about our programs and celebration dates for 2021. We are pleased to announce that from today our enrolment forms are active and we have set dates for Reconciliation and Eucharist.
The preparation of children and adults for the sacraments is a shared responsibility. We encourage parents to participate in conversations and learning activities with their children who are preparing for sacraments. We are grateful to our parish school staff and our parish catechists who lead the learning and catechetical preparation in our schools and parishes. We are grateful to our parishioners who witness lives of faith which encourage others to come forward seeking to celebrate the sacraments.
Those who were prepared by the parishes during 2020 are invited to confirm their intention to celebrate the sacrament this year and will receive an email from our parishes in the coming days.
Those who wish to enrol for the first time are asked to complete the online enrolment form.
Those families with children at either Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary School, Deepdene, Our Holy Redeemer Primary School, Surrey Hills or Our Lady’s Wattle Park Primary School will be enrolled at the school level by their teacher and Religious Education Leader.
The following dates have been set for the celebration of sacraments for this year.
Tuesday, 9 March (for those who were prepared in 2020)
Tuesday, 23 March (for those who enrol for the first time in 2021)
Sunday 30 May (for those who were prepared in 2020)
Sunday 6 June (for those who enrol for the first time in 2021)
Confirmation will take place for all students in term four. The date is yet to be finalised.
Wednesday, 10 March (for those who were prepared in 2020)
Thursday, 25 March (for those who enrol for the first time in 2021)
Sunday, 30 May (for those who were prepared in 2020)
Sunday, 6 June (for those who enrol for the first time in 2021)
Confirmation will take place for all students in term four. The date is yet to be finalised.
We are always in need of new catechists to assist in our parishes sacramental programs. If you have a passion and are experienced in teaching or religious education and would like to be involved in our programs as a catechist please contact either Tricia Norman or Nanette Giovannini at the Parish Office.
