OLGC Celebrates Mary Mackillop’s Feast Day

This week, Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary School (OLGC) celebrated Mary Mackillop’s feast day. We started the day coming together for a liturgy to engage in prayer and scripture. Throughout the day, students learnt about Mary’s life and considered the many needs of our world today. They reflected on Mary’s wonderful example, using the reflection video and Mary’s inspiring words:

Find happiness in making others happy

God will carry you safely through every struggle

Gratitude is the memory of the heart

All depends on prayer. Begin with it and end with it.

Believe the whisperings of God in your heart.

To finish our celebration, we enjoyed a whole school sausage sizzle lunch. It was a great opportunity to honour Australia’s first saint, Mary of the Cross.
