OLPS School 2022

School Voices

Thank you for taking the time to read our article!

The school term has started with enthusiasm and curiosity here at Our Lady’s.  Although term 2 is the shortest of the year we still have great learning and enriching experiences planned for students over the coming weeks.

Here are just some of the things we have to look forward to this term:

Excursion to the National Gallery of Victoria and ACMI, Australasian Problem-Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO), Interschool Sports Year 5 and 6, Opening Term Mass, Parent Webinar: Raising Children in a Digital World, NBDPSSA Cross Country Championships, Grandparents and Special Friends Mass and Celebration, Year 3 and 4 AFL Gala Day, Bike It Day, Walk to School Safely Day, Aspire Leadership Program at Siena College for our middle and senior students, First Eucharist Reflection Day, Year 5 and 6 Camp and Parent/ Teacher/ Student Learning Conversations.

Just recently we celebrated our Opening of the Term Mass with Fr Hoang.  The students reflected on what they are grateful for and what they are looking forward to this term. It was a special celebration for our community and a positive way to reconnect at the start of the term.

This week we welcomed the children from one of our local pre-schools. The children joined in a story time and spent some time exploring the learning spaces, the prep room and multi -sensory space are always very popular.

On Friday, 12 May, 45 students attended the District Cross Country Championships. These students have trained every Thursday morning from 7.45 am to 8.30 am in preparation for this event. We are very proud of their passion and commitment, and congratulate them for representing our school with such skill and sportsmanship. I take this opportunity to thank all the parents that came along to support this extra- curricular activity and to Jane James our PE Teacher for all the opportunities she seeks out and provides to all our students in the area of Physical Education.

As a school community we are all looking forward to another successful term.

On this Mother’s Day we ask God to bless all mothers, that their love may be deep and tender, and that they may lead their children to know and do what is good, living not for themselves alone, but for God and for others.
