Grandparents and Special Friends Mass

Earlier this term, Our Lady’s Primary School celebrated Grandparents and Special Friends Mass; where students had the opportunity to attend Mass with their grandparents and special friends. The atmosphere was truly wonderful and everyone was grateful for the chance to worship alongside loved one. Throughout the Mass, the students reflected upon the special place that their grandparents hold in their lives. We shared prayers of gratitude, sang songs and watched a video of all the various names that we call our grandparents. It was also wonderful to share our classrooms and delighted in watching our junior skippers, concluding the morning with a morning tea-thanks to our PFA!

Below is a Year 5/6′ reflection of their grandparent:

“My Grandma is the greatest Grandma of all time. She is fun, adventurous,  cares for me, helps me with my problems and comes to my sporting events. She is the best. She does so much with me. She is nothing like a Grandma, more like a crazy best friend who is amazing at cooking. There was this one time that we were bored at home and she suggested that we go sky diving. I was very scared and I thought she had gone mad. I did not want to but she dragged me to it and I did. It was so much fun and was one of the best moments with my Grandma. My Grandma is the best cook ever. She makes the best snacks, for example, she makes this bread and you dip it in this really good sauce  Woahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh flavor explosion.  It tastes so delicious she provides us with so much food and treats. It is so good, she spoils us so much.  I am very grateful.

My Grandma also cares for me so much that if I am cold she gives me her jacket and if I am sad she will talk to me about it. My Grandma  makes me feel happy inside and makes me feel amazing. That is why she is the best Grandma of all time.”

District Cross Country Championships

Moving on, Our Lady’s School had a wonderful experience at NBDPSSA Cross Country Championships. A dedicated group of students had been training in the rain, hail, and shine for 10 weeks and in the very early morning to prepare for this event. This dedication and exceptional training from Mrs Jane James has led to Our Lady’s Primary School winning the District Championships! We congratulate each and every one of our students for their commitment to training, resilience, and hard work. The students of Our Lady’s Primary School have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities as part of the educational experience at school. These opportunities cannot always be found in other primary school settings. We are incredibly fortunate to have the dedication and passion of teachers who continually go above and beyond any job description to provide these opportunities to our students.
