School Voices OLGC 2023

School Voices

Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary School has had a great start to the term.  There is a buzz in the air as we commence a new term and start anew.  All students have settled into their classes and they are excited to continue to foster the relationships developed in Term One and engage in new learning experiences.

We gathered as a whole school community on Wednesday, 17 April for our beginning of Term Two Mass.  We welcomed new staff to our school this semester and those who have returned from long service leave.

We are also very proud and excited to announce that one of our Year 6 students will participate in the State Swimming Championships this week at MSAC.  We wish her every success.

This term we continue to focus on our  school value of the year – courage.  We pray that we continue to take risks in our learning and embark on new learning through the concept of Sustainability.  May we learn and continue to ‘sustain’ our health, our friendships, and our  environment.

On Wednesday, 24 April, we will celebrate our school’s Centenary.  We will commence the morning with an ANZAC Commemoration followed by a tabloid sports program for all the students, a sausage sizzle lunch, then our Centenary Mass at 2.00 pm.  All are welcome to attend the Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Deepdene.

We have a very busy term planned and we look forward to many new adventures such as:

  • Whole school cross country
  • Gala sports days
  • Debating
  • Production rehearsals
  • Mother’s Day breakfast
  • School and District Cross Country
  • House athletics
  • Reports
  • Professional development in Science of Reading and Learning and Sacraments
