From the Parish House

Sunday 5:00 pm Mass is for everyone!

During the last few months the number of Sunday evening Masses in our local area has diminished. The demand for multiple Masses on a Sunday evening is no longer enough to justify the number of evening Masses that had been celebrated. The good news is that the 5:00 pm Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel will continue and is open to all. We would like all those who attend Sunday evening Mass to feel fully part of the worshipping community. To that end there will be a sign up sheet at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church for all those who would like to be part of any of the liturgical ministries for that Mass. These include readers, Eucharistic ministers, musicians, welcomers and collectors. We will keep the invitation open until Pentecost, after which new rosters will be made available for those who would like to take up any of these ministries. This invitation is open to all, no matter to which parish you belong. As an alternative to the sign up sheet, contact the Parish Office if you would like to be involved in any of the ministries at 5.00 pm Mass.

This coming Sunday the 5:00 pm Mass will be a Youth Led Mass and our young people from across our parish will assist in leading us in prayer and song. You may wish to consider coming along to this Mass if you have not done so before. We are grateful to Sophie Zebrowski who is coordinating the monthly youth led Mass, which takes place on the first Sunday of each month. If you would like to be part of the music ministry or any other aspects of the Youth Led Mass you can also email Sophie.

Sunday evening Mass can be a lovely way to gently gather at the end of the weekend. It is a time to give thanks for the life we have and to pray for assistance and strength for the things we need, for our lives and for our world.
