The following article was written by Dr Juliana Chong (Worsnop). Juliana and David Worsnop are parishioners at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Juliana has recently returned from a trip to Cambodia and Vietnam with non-profit group WeCARE providing medical care to local, and often disadvantaged, communities. There is also a video clip capturing the highlights.
Following a pilot trip to Cambodia in early 2024, a few friends and I were deeply moved by the needs we witnessed which led us to officially form WeCARE, a grassroots, self-funded NGO rooted in compassion, service, and faith.
In June 2025, our first mission brought us to Cambodia and Vietnam. We served stateless refugees at the floating village of Kampong Luong, working alongside the local nun Sr. Dang and at Kampong Chhnang parish with Fr. Luis, setting up our mobile clinics at the churches. We also reached disadvantaged rural communities in Vietnam.
