Welcome back to Students, Staff and parents….

By next Monday our school communities will be in full flight for the 2021 school year.  A big welcome to Mr Gilbert Keisler who is Acting Principal at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Deepdene, during the first part of this year while the search continues for a permanent Principal of Our Lady of Good Counsel School.  And welcome back to Annie Engellenner, staff and students at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour and Frank Dame, staff and students at Our Holy Redeemer.

Did you know that across our parishes we have almost 600 primary school students, over 100 staff and three principals!  Our students achieve amazing things and this year we look forward to hearing from many of them about what they are learning, about their hopes and dreams and about what it is that they enjoy about school life.

We will also have a busy year with sacramental celebrations as students who were prepared for the sacraments in 2020 and were unable to celebrate them now return to our churches to celebrate First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.  We will also have a large celebration of Confirmation late in the year.  These celebrations are always highlights of the year in our parishes and we look forward to being able to celebrate them once again in 2021.  More information about the sacramental celebrations will be available in the coming weeks.

One of the things that I missed about school last year was the school production and choir.  Thankfully these will be back this year and we will be able to see the artistic talents of our students.

As our schools settle in we will have the opportunity to meet our student leaders and learn more about them and the life and activities of school communities.

Welcome back to everyone involved in our parish schools.  May 2021 be blessed and fruitful.
